HiDon As discussed, I spoke to Matt Stafford this afternoon about the Minister'S briefing requirements for her forthcoming meeting with the COTS . The date for this has been confirmed as Wednesday 6 September 28 COTS Will attend. Senator Joyce will chair and coordinate speakers (apparently speakers have been nominated within the group Not everyone will speak.) You are required to attend . The Minister has requested, as attachments to the meeting brief l.a ge neral commentary by you on the COTS 2.y our legal view regarding the contractor cases. A focus should be on what she can and can 't say . She does not have any objectives regarding outcomes from the meeting (although the COTS and Senator Joyce probably will) Matt also advised that she has written to the COTS advising that she is prepared to make one final representation to Telstra on behalf of each of them , and that she considers that this ends any (real or perceived) obligation she or the Government has . We are not aware of these letters and Matt suggested that we seek copies via the DlOs (Ian, could you do this please) . Matt stated that he intended to contact you directly regarding the meeting brief requirements. I expect he will do so shortly We are working on the brief now with a view to providing it to you as early as possible next week. If I can provide anything more, please let me know.
