Whispers Across the Room Waves of hushed voices I hear, whispers across the room, Wisps of lofty laughter

floating, feathers to the moon, Glimmers of personal intimacy, young enchanting bloom, Tales of triumph and tragedy amid lies foreboding doom! Resounding resonance of life I sense, a stirring of the womb, Soaring melody sweet enough, to make one swoon, Over, glory of a radiant dawn, plaintive calls of loon, Symphonies of scents and colors, a garden in full bloom! Shivers of excitement I feel, fanning ripples festoon, Garlands along the goddesses temples, once in ruin, In a place of persecution, upheaval, time of gloom, To rise again in blinding light, soft, deafening boom! Trembling beds of earth I perceive, the brush of a broom, Sweeping away leaves around a grey forgotten tomb, Stranding oblivious caterpillars spinning a loom, Of emergent wings wafting jasmine perfume! Cries of adulation I grasp, heavenly stars that croon, Raindrops on the window-pane, sighing winds a-strewn, Winding streams and river valleys, a mythical lagoon, Where long lost composers pen rare immortal tune!
