Applying RATER to Address Service Quality in Web services Development Life cycle

Web services hold the promise of integrating software applications from heterogeneous networks and exchanging information in a simple, standardized manner. It is necessary to address the service quality throughout the various phases of Web services Development Lifecycle.

Project proposes a service level management approach to address service quality using RATER framework for various phases of the web services development. RATER is an efficient service quality framework in helping a Web services Development to shape up their efforts in optimizing the gap between perceived and expected service.

Reliability: The ability of the system to perform its required functionality under a specified amount of time. Reliability measures the level of risk and the likelihood of potential application failures Assurance: Ensure that services offered, meet the predefined level. Tangible: Physical evidence of the service: appearance of physical facilities, tools and equipments used to provide the service.

Empathy: Informing the customers in a language they can understand. Responsiveness: timeliness of service.

Service Level Management provides for continual identification, monitoring and review of the levels of IT services specified in the SLO SLO- Service level object which specify the constraints to meets the service quality this implemented as xml file.
