At the end of this activity, you should be able to identify educational programs that connect the school with the larger historical, social, cultural and political processes.

For this episode, go through the following ramps: Ramp 1. Visit a school and examine their calendar of activities. See how the students, community stakeholder are involved. Ramp 2. Identify the programs where the leaders create rewards for certain practices in delivering services to stakeholders. Record the observations on the calendar activities, programs and awards and the participants of stakeholders. Ramp 3. Reflect on how the stakeholders participate in school activities.

Your Analysis
How important is involvement of all stakeholders of the school in the schools program and activities. Stakeholders benefit, on a number of levels, by joining the collaboration. When recruiting stakeholders, it may be helpful to point out some of these benefits, which include: y y y y y A sense of accomplishment from bettering the community. Gaining recognition and respect. Meeting other community members. Learning new skills. Fulfilling an obligation to contribute (due to professional status, etc.)
