xcopy.exe is definitely your friend here. It's built into Windows, so it's cost is noting.

Just xcopy /s c:\source d:\target You would probably want to tweak a few things; some of the options I also includ e these: /s/e /v oid. /h /k - recursive copy, including copying empty directories. add this to verify the copy against the original.
