o o Said to be London s answer to the Eiffel Tower , with plans to be a permanent attraction after the Olympics with two observation platforms (capacity. 150 people) for views across central London. Project expected to cost a total of 22.7 million; 19.6 million of this being funded by Britain s said richest man Lakshimi Mittal, chairman of ArcelorMittal steel company. The remaining funds being allocated from the London Development Agency . The ArcelorMittal Orbit once completed will stand at 115 metres tall, and will be the tallest sculpture within Britain. Comparisons from local authorities have been made between the Orbit and New York City s Statue of Liberty which stands at 93 metres.
