NEW DELHI: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has come down sharply on the civil aviation ministry for the manner in which it handled the gigantic Rs 33,197crore Boeing purchase order, the "ill-timed" merger of Indian Airlines with Air India, and "one-sided concessions and benefits" such as the giving away of lucrative flying routes and seats to foreign airlines. It has gone to the extent of suggesting a "freeze on bilateral entitlements" on certain routes.
