Since I was little I was sure I wanted to be a teacher.

I grew up listening to stories from my mother, who was a Physical Education teacher and a coach in an all-girls high school in Queens, NY. She loved her job and the students she taught, and they constantly raved about her. She has an amazing personality, and her students could tell right away. She can easily connect with her students, for example she encouraged a group of high school girls to be active and excited to participate in gym class every day. Her excitement and enjoyment of being a teacher rubbed off on me. When I entered high school, my decision was confirmed when I had my 10th grade Math B Teacher. The class was extremely difficult, and every one of us in the class was fearful to take the New York State Regent. However, my teacher was determined for every student in her class to pass. Her passion for us as students showed me the difference a teacher can make in their students lives. It also led me to the path Im currently on today. I want to make a difference. I want to be there for my students and encourage them and to make sure they do their best, and are successful at anything they put their mind to. I believe a teacher can impact any student, by showing how much they care about them. I especially would like to be a math teacher because often I believe many students dislike math because they have not had a teacher they connected with. I want to change that and become the teacher who makes students believe that math is fun and interesting. I have a very positive and motivational attitude which I want to use to encourage learning and success for all my students.
