    My children, we should love people, not only with words and talk but by our actions and true caring. 1 John 3.18
    I hope you all had a chance to discuss the report card and reading continua with your child. Please keep the report card but return the signed envelope and continua. This week we have a short Health unit on the human reproductive system. Mr. Marshall will teach the boys and girls will be in the classroom with me. We will begin a new science unit on Atoms and Molecules next week. We are continuing our study of early American colonies in Social Studies and have finished the first part of The Witch of Blackbird Pond in Reading. The next couple of weeks we will focus on writing the ISP report as well. Notes Feb. 2: Singing Chapel 8.30 a.m. Feb. 14: Valentine Party Feb. 20-21: Winter Break - no school Mar. 3: Teacher work day - no school

    Ms. Hardeman, the 3rd grade teacher, held a special singing chapel in her room. Special guest was Mr. Hardeman, the former principal of the elementary.

    ISP This week we will be finishing up with research and will work on organizing the notes taken so far. This is a high learning curve for most students. They have to be able to construct good sentences and paragraphs out of the notes they have taken on their topic. This is an attempt to avoid just copying material -- instead they will read, assimilate the information and try to explain it in their own words.
