PAST SIMPLE

Use the Past Simple to express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past. Muchas veces corresponde al Pretrito Perfecto Simple del espaol. Se usa con un periodo de tiempo ya terminado. El Past Simple de los verbos regulares termina en ed: work/worked, play/played, start/started, need/needed, dance/danced, rain/rained etc. try/tried, study/studied, copy/copied, stop/stopped, plan/planned etc. El Past Simple del verbo be = was/were I/he/she/it was we/you/they were Muchos verbos son irregulares: begin/began, bring/brought, build/built, come/came, drink/drank, eat/ate, find/found, get/got, go/went, have/had, know/knew, leave/left, see/saw, sleep/slept, speak/spoke, sit/sat EXAMPLES: He arrived yesterday/last week/at 5 oclock/in 2008/two month ago/last year The police stopped me on my way home last night. Yesterday I went to London to see a friend of mine. I lost my keys last week. I lived in France for six month (but now I live in Spain). Last year we travelled to Japan. I played the piano when I was a child.

The parcel didnt arrive two days ago. When did Shakespeare die? What time did the concert start? How did the accident happen? Where did you go for your holidays?

Respuestas breves: Did you come to the party yesterday? No, I didnt Did it rain on Saturday? Yes, it did. Did your parents have a nice holiday? Yes, they did.
