A BIG thank you to all parents for their unflagging support as the 5th graders go through the ISP experience. We are heading toward the end. In these next weeks, please ask your child often where s/he is on the project. If s/he needs to work at school, please feel free to allow him/her to come early and stay until 4.30. I am in the classroom by 7.15 at least, so do not mind if your child needs to work on this at school sometimes. We are also starting an in-class project in Social Studies as an assessment of our unit on the settling of the present day U.S.A. In Science we will start a new unit on atoms and molecules. ISP Everyone should be just about finished with research. I checked students notes last week and most of them have done a lot of hard work and have organized their notes according to the outline s/he wrote. This week we will focus on the actual writing of the report. We will also learn how to write interview questions and some of the students may actually be able to have their questions answered. Students have worked very hard and are on the homestretch. We are almost finished.

We will have a video and some valentine treat on Feb. 14. This is a good way to celebrate friendship in the classroom so welcome children bringing in cards for their friends. Please be sure every child is included. A class list is attached in case you need it.
