Britannic Font
Design date: 1901 Publisher: Linotype Original foundry: Stephenson Blake Brief history: Britannic is a sans serif face with a vertical axis and a high degree of stroke contrast, especially in the heavier weights. This typeface exudes a degree of elegance that has not often been matched during the Century that has passed since it was first drawn. This interesting face always excites heated opinions. Some, like the writer, have always put Britannic Bold firmly in the category called 'Monumentally Overrated'. Others swear by it. In fact, a survey conducted at great expense (among three people) found that two out of three thought Britannic Bold was magnificent. And it can't be all bad, having started life at the renowned Stephenson Blake type foundry, and to have outlasted the same foundry's Rothbury, which to most people is probably indistinguishable from Britannic. State your opinion. And if you like Britannic Bold, try it.

Reason: It is an elegant font that fits in with the complex pictures around it. The simplicity can make it perceivable and outstanding.
