*CLAS is the acronym for the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health Care that provides the framework for all health care organizations to best serve the nations increasing diverse communities.

The mission of the WOMH is to minimize health disparities among underserved populations in the state through collaboration, advocacy, and education; and to promote culturally competent programs aimed at improving access to healthcare.

Dr. Jose Reyes is a national presenter and consultant on the topic of Cultural Competence and Human Relations with emphasis on program development and consumer advocacy. Dr. Reyes has over 20 years experience in program development, public health, culturally competent delivery systems, child welfare, and migrant health. He has consulted nationally with The Annie E. Casey Foundation, AT&T Employee Assistance Program, The National Football League Security Office, The National Institute of Mental Health Child and Adolescent Service System Program and several nationally known migrant service networks like the Migrant Clinicians Network and Migrant Health Promotion.
