    A Movement Medicine Workshop with Mark Boylan
    We all need to pause from time to time to reflect on how we are and where we are going. Movement and dance are profound tools for reflection. When we move the body we are moving the whole of our being, our physical self, our heart, our mind, our conscious and unconscious stories, our habitual patterns and our essential self. If we trust the wisdom of the body it can speak to us and provide insight into our current situation and what action is needed. This day will offer space for this personal exploration. The reflective process is strengthened when we come together to support each other and learn from other perspectives. A powerful way to do this is through the Insight Council. During an Insight Council different developmental or supportive roles are encountered providing a balance of acceptance, appreciation, reflection, enquiry as well as challenge. The structure and process of the Insight Council helps to integrate body, heart and mind. As well as gaining embodied insight for ourselves we can also develop and deepen our ability to undertake a wide variety of roles to support others growth and development, whether in work contexts or simply in our friendships and relationships. The day will be led by Mark Boylan who is a qualified teacher of Movement Medicine and of 5 Rhythms dance and is about to qualify as a sociodramatist. Mark developed the Insight Council as a key reflective tool for the Movement Medicine Apprenticeship Programme which is taught by Susannah and YaAcov Darling Kahn Mark will be a guest teacher on the Apprenticeship Programme in 2012.
