Campaign Internship
Overview: Therese Murray was elected Senator of the Plymouth and Barnstable District in 1992 and became the first woman President of the Massachusetts Senate in March 2007. Prior to becoming Senate President in 2007, Murray served as Chairwoman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee for four years, where her main responsibility was crafting the state budget. Murray is up for election this November to represent the Plymouth and Barnstable District which will be made up of the following towns for 2012: Pembroke, Kingston, Plymouth, Bourne, Sandwich, and Falmouth. Internship Descriptions: The campaign is looking for enthusiastic and politically minded interns. Interns will work with the campaign staff to make phone calls, help set up events, research, and run errands for the campaign. As an intern you will be working as a grassroots organizer and will play a crucial part in the campaign. All applicants must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary.

Application Process: Any interested person with a valid drivers license is eligible to apply. When applying for an internship position, please send in your resume and cover letter by April 1. All applicants must have a valid drivers license and access to a car to drive around the district. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and then the applicant will be contacted by a member of the campaign staff to set up an interview. Time Frame for Internship: It is preferred that all interns are able to work through the election but if this is not possible the staff can work with the applicant to set up an internship schedule. This is an unpaid internship that runs from June-November (unless determined otherwise).
