The Santa Cruz Museum Association is planning a new 30,000 sq ft LEED-certified home for the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History. AldrichPears Associates worked with client, project manager and project architects William McDonough + Partners to define the theme Gateway to nature and environmental stewardship in the Monterey Bay Watersheds. This theme guides the content in the Museum. The indoor and outdoor exhibits focus on geology and plate tectonics, weather and climate, the peopling of Santa Cruz, and habitats. Concept work was completed in 2005.
