EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Several buildings and facilities occupying the large area of the University of Santo Tomas are difficult to locate especially for one who is not yet familiar with its vicinity. Aside from getting late for an appointment, another worse scenario for a person to get into is getting lost. This project explores the technology available at hand to give assistance to people. The University of Santo Tomas Mobile Map Application is intended for smartphones running Android 2.2 operating system at the very least. Its main objective was to give users accurate and reliable information of each building and directions regarding the vicinity and facilities while marketing the university as well. With this mobile application, users can find their destination and information relevant to them with ease and in an efficient manner. Tests were done and questionnaires were given to gather information from the targeted users. Although further improvements were recommended, this application was found useful and of great help by most of the respondents. This study is also useful for future researchers who want to explore mobile applications in todays industry.
