Introduction


Microfinance means bringing the financial services to the reach of the millions of people who are too poor to be served by regular banks. In micro finance, money is provided to the people who can not afford loans from banks to develope their emloyment skills. Microfinance helps in economic and social development of poor people by providing them credit.

Objectives of Study
    

To trace the genesis and development of Microfinance. To study various models under Microfinance. To analyse the impact of the Self help groups on the social conditions of the members. To measure the impact of Self help groups on the economic conditions of the members. To offer suggestions to improve the working of Self help groups.

Research Methedology : Collection of Data

    

Data will be collected from the members of self help groups in Ludhiana. Population will be from any 2 blocks of Ludhiana according to the sufficient number of SHGs. 50 respondents will be selected from each block, so the sample size will be 100. Collection of data will be in both ways i.e primary and secondary. Primary data will be collected from the respondents and the secondary data will be collected from internet, various journals and research papers etc.

ANALYSIS OF DATA
 The

data collected will be analysed with the help of percentages, cross tabulation, standardstandard-daviations,mean,variance and piepie-charts etc.
