Fonda-Fultonville Central School District Concerned Parents and Community Members 112 Old Johnstown Road P.O.

Box 1501 Fonda, NY 12068-1501 (518) 853-4747 ext. 8

February 15, 2012 The Honorable Andrew W. Cuomo Governor of New York State NYS State Capital Building Albany, NY 12224

Dear Governor Cuomo: As a concerned parent/guardian of a Fonda-Fultonville Central School District student/students, the budget deficit for the 2012-2013 school year is deeply troubling and disheartening. In particular, the decrease in State Aid to our school will have devastating consequences. The thought of many of our current academic, extra-curricular and sports programs being eliminated is alarming. A rural school district like Fonda-Fultonville Central School will be impacted the most by the loss of State Aid. We are facing the possibility of losing our kindergarten program, college-level courses in high school, and elementary music and art. In addition, we may very well lose our champion football and basketball teams and all sports that are currently offered. As a result of these cuts, there will be an increase in classroom size, an increase in drop-out rates, and much, much more! These are our children, the future of New York! PLEASE put our children first! Please remove the Gap Elimination Adjustment and restore all state aid to the Fonda-Fultonville Central School!

Sincerely,

_______________________________________ Parent/guardian of a Fonda-Fultonville Central School student
