A query is a database object that gathers data from one or more tables.

You can use either a query or a table as the data source for your new form. You're using this query (which selects data from a few fields) because it provides just the data you need, and the resulting form is smaller and easier to use. The Navigation Pane shows you just what's in the database you're using. Tables, forms, reports, queries they're all visible here, handy while you work. And you do your work by using the Ribbon. A primary key is a field, or a combination of fields, with a value that makes each row in a table unique. Primary keys are another way to avoid duplicating your data, because you can never duplicate a value in a primary key field. Primary keys also enable relationships among your tables.
