Durweston CE VA Primary School Use of Images Policy

At Durweston CE VA Primary School we take the safeguarding of children very seriously and this includes the use of images of pupils. Including images of pupils in school publications, on the school website and in the local press can be: Motivating for the pupils involved Provide a good opportunity to promote the work of the school However, schools have a duty of care towards pupils which means that pupils must remain unidentifiable, reducing the risk of inappropriate contact if images are used in this way. At Durweston we ask parents to consent to the school taking and using photographs and images of their children. We will never include the full name of any pupil alongside an image. On occasion, newspaper reporters like to include a name in their article but the first name only will be given. Parents complete a consent form annually (see attached).

Adopted by the governing body January 2009 Reviewed Spring 2010, 2011 and 2012
