TRAPEZIUM
A quadrilateral in which at least one pair of opposite sides are parallel is called a trapezium.
PARALLELOGRAM
A quadrilateral in which both the opposite sides are parallel is called a parallelogram.
PROPERTIES OF A PARALLELOGRAM
Opposite sides are equal. Opposite angles are equal. Diagonals bisect each other.
RHOMBUS
A parallelogram in which a pair of adjacent sides are equal is called a rhombus.
PROPERTIES OF A RHOMBUS
Rhombus is a parallelogram. Diagonals bisect at right angles.
RECTANGLE
A parallelogram in which at least one angle is a right angle it is a rectangle.
PROPERTIES OF A RECTANGLE
A rectangle is a parallelogram. All properties of a parallelogram holds for a rectangle also. At least one angle is a right angle. Diagonals are equal.
SQUARE
A parallelogram with a pair of adjacent sides equal and one angle is a right angle is called a square.
PROPERTIES OF A SQUARE
All sides are equal in length. Each of its angle is 90 degrees. The diagonals are equal in length. The diagonals bisect at right angles.
KITE
A quadrilateral in which pairs of adjacent sides are equal is called a kite. Note: A kite is not a parallelogram.
