Arenillo receives international awards

Themed Practical Breakthrough Solutions for a Sustainable Asian Region, the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR) and Comission on Higher Education Regional Office X (CHEDRO X) conferred to Dr. Sonia A. Arenillo, the Graduate Studies Coordinator and Research and Development Director of MinSCAT-Calapan City Campus, two international awards for research namely, the International Author Indexing Award and International Author Citation Award during the 2nd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research held at Eastview Hotel, Bacolod City last October 21-22, 2011. Said awards were given in recognition to her research paper entitled Yield and Quality of Virgin Coconut Oil Using Varieties of Coconut published in the Liceo Journal of Higher Education Research (Vol. 5 No. 2), an international and refereed journal published both in print and online, which was cited by L Foster blog.bodykind.com and Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine. With these awards received, Dr. Arenillo was accredited as Asian Peer Reviewer for the period August 17, 2011 to August 17, 2012. In the same event, she also presented her research paper Performance of Taro Flour on Diversified Baked Products co-authored by Mrs. Rachel B. Montero (Science Research Assistant) and Mr. Ronnie F. Magsino ( Foods Technology Instructor). The said paper received the Silver Award for oral presentation. Recently, the same research paper was considered for publication of the maiden issue of Development Educational Journal of Multidisciplinary Research, an international and refereed journal of the La Consolacion College Bacolod who hosted the aforementioned event. Dr.Arenillo also served as judge for the oral presentation giving her recognition as International Quality Award.
