Cuomo Governor of New York State NYS State Capital Building Albany, NY 12224 Dear Governor Cuomo: I am writing to you as a concerned community member of the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District. The budget deficit of $2.7 million for the 2012-2013 school year is deeply troubling and disheartening. In particular, the decrease in State Aid to our district will have devastating consequences. The thought of many of our current academic, extra-curricular and sports programs being eliminated is alarming. A rural school district, like Fonda-Fultonville Central School, will be impacted the most by the loss of State Aid. The district is facing the possibility of losing the kindergarten program, college-level courses in high school, and elementary music and art. In addition, we may very well lose all sports that are currently offered. As a result of these cuts, there will be an increase in classroom size, an increase in drop-out rates, and much, much more! These are our children, the future of New York! PLEASE put our children first! Please remove the Gap Elimination Adjustment and restore all state aid to the Fonda-Fultonville Central School!
