By Lindsay Welbers Princeton Reporter PRINCETONTwo DePue residents who have been charged with the shooting that

took place last month pleaded not guilty in Bureau County Court Wednesday. DeLargo Gullens, 21, and Maria Gasca, 27, are both facing charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony that could send them to the Illinois Department of Corrections for 4-15 years. DePue Police officer Christian Rios testified that at the time of the shooting witnesses said Gullens and Gasca and one other man were seen fleeing from the home that was targeted in a tan sedan. The shooting took place at 12:15 a.m. June 16 at 3037 Bedford Dr. in the DePue neighborhood of Oakbrook Estates. Four shots were fired at the home and no injuries were reported. Rios testified that Gasca and Gullens fled to the Tou-Rest Motel in Peru, where a .38 caliber chrome plated, stainless steel handgun was recovered from the engine compartment of a white Grand Am associated with the shooting. Bureau County States Attorney Pat Herrmann would not elaborate on who owned the Grand Am or how it became involved. Judge Cornelius Hollerich denied Gullens motion to reduce bond from $150,000 to $40,000, but approved Gascas motion to reduce bond from $75,000 to $40,000.
