Education is of great importance in Japan. According to a statistic, the number of students finishing high school is very high, accounting for nearly 90 percent. Students at public schools have to pay no tuition fee and there is also no difference in their learning materials. In this country, social reasons make graduation from a university significant to every student. In order to achieve this target, Japanese students have to take many challenging exams for all kinds of education from even nursery schools to universities. Extreme discipline is needed for everyone to do well in these exams, which means Japanese students have to spend time learning instead of enjoying their interests or social life. One evidence for the availability of the American education is that there are many mature students in this country. However, U.S. education also has some downsides. Besides the lack of discipline, many secondary students involve in stimulants overuse or illegal activities. Moreover, because of financial problem, undeveloped regions suffer the shortage of good teachers and good facilities as well.
