Headship advertised
The Governors would like to ensure that you are kept informed about the process of appointing a new head teacher. David Farrant, the Chair of Governors has sent a letter to all families about the dates of the advertising and interviews. If you haven't received this letter please ask Mrs Schwab for a copy. Head teacher appointments must be advertised nationally as well as locally. The Oxfordshire advertisement is now on line and the Times Educational Supplement will be advertising the position in the next few days.

Welcome
We are pleased to welcome Ms. Sarah Schofield to Appleton School. She will be working as a teaching assistant in Year 3 and Year 6. Ms. Dillon has returned from her 6 week placement at SS. Philip and James Primary School in Oxford. We really missed her and are happy to see her return to Appleton.

Returning to school after an illness.

Just a reminder that children should not return to school for 48 hours if they have had a high temperature, vomiting or diarrhea. This is an Oxfordshire policy and important to prevent infections spreading to other children. If your child has an infectious condition then please ask your G.P. when they can return to school. We are not insured to give children medication unless they have a condition which is long term e.g. severe allergies and using an epipen. Recently we have been asked by parents if their child can stay indoors because they have a cold. If your child is unable to go outdoors then they really shouldnt be at school. There are times when we need to contact you because your child is ill. Please can you make sure that we have your current contact numbers and the names of other people who can be contacted if you are unavailable.

Well done Emily Ford and Zoe Lovibond who competed in the County Swimming Championships last weekend and gained top places in the relay and medley relay. Their team broke the county and club record!
