Burr formation
Problem
This is a very common phenomenon. It does not always appear, but it mainly occurs when working with soft materials (steels) andlorplastics.
Solution
- Use inserts with a positive cutting edge. - Replace with a more positive insert. - Use a tool with a narrower angle of attack (i.e. less detachment). - Use a cutting direction from the outside to the inside of the part.
Problem
This can be due to a number of different factors, affecting either the tool or machine, or it may even be due to intense machining conditions.
Solution
- Use a more resistant qualitygrade. - Check the clamping stability. - Reduce or balance the tool overhang. - Reduce ap (depth of cut). - Reduce ae (cutting width measurement).
Problem
This often occurs in finishing operations with high surface conditions due to factors such as work material, work environment, design and state of the inserts, cutting parameters (speed, feed) and tool system stability.
Solution
- Reduce the feed. -Increase the cutting speed. - Use finishing inserts orinserts with a finishing section. - Eliminate vibration. - Use positive cutting inserts with facets.
Problem
This is a very common phenomenon; it can be due to incorrect tool balance, unstable clamping or excessive cutting pressure. Correct clamping of the tool and the workpiece is essential in such cases.
Solution
- Reduce the cutting sections (ap, ae) - Reduce or balance the tool overhang. - Check the clamping stability. - Reduce the number of teeth (z) on the tool. - Choose the inserts geometry and grade with a view to minimising the pressure (the sharpest cut and the toughest inserts).

Insert clamping
Descrip=.t=ic.c0=.ocn=--
While the inserts are being bolted, all their contact walls with the tool must be correctly placed; there must be no impurities on the seating base particularly, and good contact is vital.
For milling operations, grade E026 is recommended as it is the thickest material and has a relatively fine coating, applied using the MT CVD technique. This high-performance grade is suitable for milling steels and cast steel. For copy milling, grade E040 is recommended as it is the thickest coating applied using the MT CVD technique, providing high performance at high machining speeds in stable copy milling conditions.
~------------------~
For drilling, TF40 is the most suitable grade. It is mainly recommended for inserts on the outside of the bit, enabling it to withstand high drilling speeds better.
PVC-coated materials
For milling, we offer 7 cutting grades: G010, T016, T026, T026T and T040. G025, G040, Quality grade T016 is designed for operations requiring greater abrasion resistance, while grades T026 and T040 are suitable for operations where greater roughness is needed. Grade T026 is made of a very versatile material, making it suitable for a very wide range of applications. The milling applications for these grades are for a relatively wide range of stainless steels, particularly austenitic steels, heat-resistant steels and special alloys, but it is also suitable for milling soft steels. Its use is effective whenever a strong, sharp cutting blade is required, together with a positive angle on the insert geometry.
Non-coated grades
For milling, the percentage of effective applications for noncoated inserts (cemented carbides) is essentially greater than for turning. As with the grades coated using the PVD technique, they have a better, harder cutting blade, and are therefore mainly used for machining steels and materials with a high hardening index (austenitic steels and superalloys). This type of cutting materials is commonly used for milling AI and Cu alloys, and also for machining heat-treated materials at a high hardness index.

PVD - Gold
(TiAISi)N
This is the most wear-resistant quality grade. It is designed for finishing and semi-roughing. The microstructure of a cemented fine grain and a nanostructured layer provides a good base for resistance to abrasive wear. Combining the WC + Co structure with the PVD coating method, the reliability of the operation is guaranteed. It is a highly versatile coating for the different materials to be machined, but its application is subject to a correct choice of geometry.
PVD - Gold
(TiAISi)N
The material substrate of this cutting grade is created by case-hardened carbide on a WC + Co base with medium cobalt content. In spite of being a very tough quality grade, it maintains good wear resistance. The main field of application for this grade is milling of stainless steel materials, the most difficult alloys and cast iron, but it can also be used for machining steels with a hardness of 900 MPa and over, and also for machining non-ferrous materials. This grade can occasionally heat-treated materials. be used for milling
