ABSTRACT ON VIDEO CONFERENCING

Video Conference is simply a method for people in two or more locations to not only talk with one another, but to see each other and exchange information. This technology is employed by a broad spectrum of users to facilitate cost effective communication with key individuals or groups regardless of their geographic location. Until recently, most Desktop Video Conference was done with room videoconferencing systems, which require very sophisticated and expensive equipment to provide high-quality sound and video. Desktop Video Conference is less expensive and requires personal computer. This Project can be used in our college for various meetings that includes all the department heads in our college.. It is also useful to deliver online project guidance to the students etc. The primary use of Desktop Video Conference is to allow the timely exchange of information without traveling. There is no need for various persons to meet at a common place to make their conference. Most meetings that are held face-to face can be held by video-conferencing. Desktop Video Conference is useful in situations of crisis management, or times when meetings are held on short notice. Introduction: Desktop videoconference is peer to peer video conference application by which we can fetch and send the video and audio stream of one system to other one. Existing System: Until recently, most videoconferencing was done with room video conferencing systems, which require very expensive equipment to provide high-quality sound and video through the Internet. Proposed System: To develop a video conferencing application with a minimum equipment And less expenses on software technology without using the Internet. Software Specification: Client Operating System : Windows 2000 Professional/XP. Software Used : j2sdk1.5. Technology To Use : Java Swings. Hardware Specification: Processor : Pentium III or Higher Network Card : 32 BIT Ethernet Extra Equipments : Webcam, Headphones and Microphones Well configured intranet network.
