PlayBuilders of Hawaii Theater Company is holding its first community Story Circle on Saint Patricks Day, Saturday, March 17th at 6 PM the Honjiwa Temple in Wahiawa. Appalachia, Hawaii, winner of the 2010 Lisa Toishigawa Inouye Award for Excellence in Playwriting will be read by some of Hawaiis best actors including Jo Pruden and Blossom Lam Hoffman as the Tutus, Allan Okubo as Joseph, Jade Glover as Lani, Aubrey Glover as Kathy, Josh Dulhaylodsod as Kawika, John Myers as Blake, Beth Madden Burdette as Grace, Stacy Ray as Joyce, and Blake Nakoa as Jimmy. Auditions for a revised "Appalachia, Hawaii" starring community members will take place in April. Our goal is to encourage the people of Wahiawa and Schofield to share their stories with us so that we can gather enough material to create a real community based play this summer. This is an opportunity to learn what the play is about and to participate in it's further development. This will eventually be a play written for, with and about the people of Wahiawa and Schofield. The event is free however, reservations must be made so we know how many people to expect. For reservations or further information, please call Terri at 294-4437. The Honjiwa Temple is located across the street from the Botanical Gardens. Good food and soft drinks will be served
