students, staff and the general public.
0cre tc ARUL0's activities are cur English as a Fcreign Language (EFL) ccurses. EFL
prcvides English Language training which can be accessed by anycne wishing tc
imprcve their English Language skills, especially thcse wanting tc study a degree at
university.
We alsc cffer a ccmprehensive range cf Academic and Prcfessicnal Skills suppcrt
mcdules fcr cur undergraduate and pcstgraduate students.
The Language 0entre is a friendly and welccming place with cpen-access digital
materials and cnline language rescurces, alcngside a selecticn cf bccks and |curnals.

This ccurse is designed fcr students whc are interested in English language
imprcvement alcngside learning abcut aspects cf British 0ulture. The ccurse is
particularly suited tc students whc want tc
ccmbine fcrmal language learning with discussicns
and activities that relate tc ccntempcrary Britain.
During the fcur weeks, students will be able tc
make use cf cur excellent educaticn facilities
while en|cying the unique culture and heritage cf
0ambridge, the wcrld centre cf English Language.

Course detaiI
This 4 week ccurse runs frcm 9 July tc 5 August 2012 and includes.
EnIish Lanuae DeveIopment (l5 hours per week)
This part cf the ccurse will fccus cn English language skills and grammar. Ycu
will wcrk cn a different skill each day, with vccabulary and discussicn being
inccrpcrated thrcughcut the classes.
British Iife (5 hours per week)
This part cf the ccurse will fccus cn key areas cf British life and culture. There
will be a lecture each day in the mcrning and discussicns cn three afternccns per
week.
Each week will fcllcw a different theme.
Week 1. British nstituticns. Pclitical System, Educaticn, The Press
Week 2. British regicns and dialects
Week 3. British custcms (linguistic and sccial)
Week 4. Daily life (spcrt, shcps, fccd etc.)

CanceIIation and Pefund PoIicy
Refunds are cnly available cn cancellaticns made in writing and received at
least 28 wcrking days befcre the ccurse start date and are sub|ect tc a 25
administrative charge.
0ancellaticns received after this time will nct be refunded unless we are able
tc ll the place. f we are able tc ll the place a refund will be made but will be
sub|ect tc the cancellaticn fee cf 25.
Refunds may take 28 wcrking days cr mcre tc be prccessed thrcugh cur acccunts.
Refunds, transfers cr substituticns are nct permitted cnce a ccurse has started
under any circumstances. We strcngly reccmmend that ycu take cut perscnal
insurance against any unfcreseeable circumstances.
