Kinnickinnic River Watershed Action Team November 17, 2010 Minutes Around 20 people attended this meeting, held

at Milwaukee Countys Wilson Park Pavilion. Jeff Martinka reported on recent Sweet Water activities, including several recently-submitted grant applications. The meeting then focused entirely on reviewing the draft implementation plan for the Kinnickinnic River watershed: o Members of the Kinnickinnic River Watershed Action Team, and other interested parties, are invited to submit comments on the draft plan by November 29 to KKWAT co-chair Ben Gramling. o The group focused its attention on the Priority Projects: Early-out 2011/2012 section (Section IV) of the document, having spent the bulk of the last meeting on Section III (Kinnickinnic River Watershed Projects) and other parts of the document. o As people consider each proposed project in Section IV, they are encouraged to consider potential roles they could play and to comment on any additional partners we should be considering on each project. Next steps: o The group is slated to meet next on December 15, location TBD perhaps that meeting will be more like a holiday party/celebration of the years accomplishments. o The group agreed that the 4-6pm time slot strikes a good balance both for those for whom this is work and those wishing to drop in after work. o Pending a different decision down the road, the group will continue to meet on a monthly basis in 2011. o The next meetings agenda will include discussion of and a decision on whether there should be a communications/outreach subcommittee to think through how best to reach out to potential partners and watershed stakeholders on the ongoing restoration of the Kinnickinnic River watershed.
