Peters Party
Peter has been cooking in the kitchen for 4 hours. He and his wife are
having guests over for dinner tonight. He has been working hard to
prepare the meal. He has prepared an appetizer, a main course, some
salad and now he is making the dessert. He is making a cake for dessert,
and he has been mixing the ingredients for 10 minutes. Now he just has
to bake it for an hour.
His wife has been cleaning for several hours as well. She has cleaned the
bathrooms, the living room, and the front hallway. Now shes cleaning
the dining room. She has been dusting the furniture for almost twenty
minutes now. When Peter finishes cooking, shes going to help him clean
the kitchen.
They have been planning this dinner party all week but they left all the
work until the last minute. They have been working so hard that they are
exhausted now. They are both very tired, and would rather sleep tonight
than have guests over.

Our Basketball Game

Its the championship game. My basketball team is playing against our
rival team the Sharks. We have been playing for one hour so far. We
have been getting more and more exhausted, but were still excited.
We have been waiting all year for this day. We have been dreaming
about winning the championship. If we win well get a trophy and our
photograph in the paper. We have been practicing hard all season. The
players on the other team have been as well. The game is close so far;
they are only a few points ahead. We have been playing really good
defense, but the players on the other team have been scoring more
goals. During our breaks we have been drinking lots of water and eating
power bars. We have been discussing with our coach how to improve
our offensive play. The Sharks have been strengthening their defense.
Our fans have been cheering loudly throughout the game. I think we are
going to win this game. We have just been saving our energy for the last
round.

Ive Been Travelling

I have been travelling around Europe for 3 months. I have been to
Germany, Denmark, Italy and the Czech Republic. I have been learning
to say hello in many different languages. Right now Im in France. I
have been backpacking around France for 3 weeks. I have visited Paris,
Lyon and Toulouse. I have seen the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre. This
week I have been sightseeing in the south of France. I have been eating
very well here. The food is so delicious and I love the fresh baguettes. I
have been buying a baguette every morning for breakfast. I have been
staying in Youth Hostels. They are cheaper than hotels. I have met lots
of other backpackers during my travels. In Toulouse I met an Australian
girl and a Japanese guy in the youth hostel and we have been travelling
together ever since. We have been travelling by train. Soon I will head
off to Spain on my own. I have been thinking about going surfing in the
ocean.
