NO SPARK IS NEEDED LIQUID FUEL UNDER VERY HIGH PRESSURE IS INJECTED DIRECTLY INTO THE CYLINDER WHICH IS FILLED WITH HIGHLY COMPRESSED AIR. IGNITION BEGINS WHEN THE FUEL HITS THE AIR THAT IS AT A TEMPERATURE OF 777 DEGREES F.
