    HISTORY OF TI GROUPS

    AMM MURUGAPPA CHETTIAR was one among the farsighted industrialist of the country. His intuitive foresight of the countrys future industrial development established a solid foundation and heralded an era of industrial development for TII GROUP.

    TII was first established with the name TI CYCLES to produce Cycles under the brand name HERCULES OF INDIA, which is collaborate with TIL UNITED KINGDOM, the worlds largest manufacturer of Bicycles in 1949. After that TII was established many of its branches throughout India such as TUBE PRODUCTS OF INDIA, TI METAL SECTION, TI DIAMOND CHAIN LTD, etc. the company had a proud history for the past 50 years and celebrated its golden jubilee in previous year. The company had grown immensely over the past 50 years and succeeded in many milestone and achievements.

    After setting license Mersec was ready to manufacture Cold Rolled Formed section for use in electrical, furniture and vechicle Body Building and Roll shutters. In 1975, TI METAL SECTIONS developed collecting Electrodes profiles for flakt Design for BHEL and in 1979. TI METAL SECTIONS developed Ophel Collecting Electrodes for VOLTAS.

    In 1962, TUBE PRODUCTS OF INDIA established a Cold Rolling mill for the production of Cold Rolled Annealed steel strips. These Roll is most end use in automobile.

    In 1982, TI METAL SECTIONS has formed a separate unit with a capacity of around 25000 per annum.

    In 1997, TI METAL SECTIONS ISO 9002 Certificate from BEREAU VERITAS QUALITY INTERNATIONAL (BVQI). A new facility to produce Car Door Frames for 800CC Maruti car was set up at Bawalnea. The project was sourced from M/s.Edward Rose Ltd., United Kingdom. In addition, they also installed facilities for producing Door Frames for HYUNDAI SANTRO at Chennai facility, in agreement entered with Dong Won, Korea.

    In Nineties, TI METAL SECTIONS became multi-location with addition of manufacturing Unit at Tarapur.

    TII GROUP has an international footprint, extending to over 30 Countries.TII today is a leader in most of its business.

    Thus TII is poised to emerge a company with global capabilities in the coming years.
