hen I first started thinking about this weeks column I wanted to call it the 544. Now, I am not so sure I want to do that. I got to thinking about people in office that effect our life and how many people they effect on a day to day basis I thought it was time to put some perspective in play. Acciording to a recent article by U.S. News and world reports The United States entered 2012 with a population of roughly 312.8 million people (or exactly 312,780,968people, if you want to be pedantic). I thought about the number of registered voters and it made me sick. It is difficult to tabulate the current number of registered voters . In 2004 during the last Presidential season here was the breakdown :55 million registered Republicans ;72 million registered Democrats, 42 million registered as independents, under some other minor party or with a No Party designation. Total 169 million out of about nearly three hundred thirteen million residents who are elligible to vote. Now, I want to take a look at the number of people who have their hand in our pocket inlocal, county wide, state wide and nationally. If you live in a incorperated city you are going to have a mayor and a few council members. At the county level, A county Judge assorted county comissioners, Contables, and Justices of the Peace, It also goes with out say-
