Online Greenlight Review 2 Unit 5 Animation

Character Designs
I started drawing some quick sketches the blimp, drawing similarities from whales. The first sketch is the front view however, I realised that if I need to make the character pompous, I needed to exaggerate the nose. I like the 2nd and 3rd drawings. Feedback from others is that the 2nd is more successful in portraying a more pompous blimp. I need to now experiment with making some of features fit with the type of character e.g. make the propeller look like a bow tie etc.

Storyboard Below is a rough storyboard to document some of my ideas.

Essay Introduction This essay critically analyses John Lasseter and his work, particularly the Toy Story series. How to tell a great toy story and Lasseter preaches fail-safe philosophy refer to Lasseter's thought process and his philosophy for making films. Toon Story: John Lasseter's Animated Life and The Toy Story Story are sources which provide information on Lasseter and Toy Story, written within a few years of Toy Story's release. John Lasseter on Toy Story 3 and 2 provides an insight into the newer films in the series from Lasseter himself. This assignment will first investigate the animator and his style and then analyse the first computer generated film, Toy Story, making comparison to the sequels, comparing changes in style from 1995 to the present day.
