SYNOPSIS ON RELEVANCE OF TORTS IN PRESENT ERA

JAIN 11IP60007 Objective: To identify the significance of various categories of torts in coherence with the modern era. Research Methodology: Secondary Research through available data sources which shall involve collection of data, compilation of facts and analysis of the case laws. Introduction: As, in the present scenario, the scopes of torts have increased significantly, due to rise in the communication channels, social networking and various other factors which have increased the scope of breach of civil duties. The various categories of torts recognized are:

Negligence: It is a tort which depends on the existence of a breaking of the duty of care owed by one person to another. Statutory Torts: it imposes duties on private or public parties, however they are created by the legislature, not the courts. Nuisance: It is used to describe an activity or condition that is harmful or annoying to others, harm caused by such activities, legal liabilities that arise from the such situations. Defamation: It is tarnishing the reputation of someone. Intentional Torts: Intentional torts are any intentional acts that are reasonably foreseeable to cause harm to an individual, and that do so. Economic Torts: These torts protect people from interference with their trade or business.

In this project paper it is aspired to have a thorough legal understanding of Torts since its legal initiation and trace the development till date. Also, prove that the relevance of Torts still exist and in much more substantial way.
