Appendix 1 Cycle Strand Test Equipment:

Procedure
Client is weighed Clients other details such as age and that are also recorded. The client is asked to take part in a 10 minute warm up followed by a stretching session to prevent injuries. The professional sets the work rate at 115 kg-m/min (kilogram-force meter/minute) for the client that is taking part who is aged 52. The client does a warm up of 2 minutes on the ergo meter cycle to get his heart rate at a standard 130-160bpm (beats per minute) Once the clients heart rate is between the recommended 130-160bpm, then the assistant will start his stop watch, inform the client his time has started and once every minute has passed, the clients heart rate will be recorded. If the clients heart rate isnt reaching between 130-160bpm and the assistant will increase the work rate from 115 kg-m/min. Once the 6 minutes have passed the assistant will record down all the different results from the test.
