Modernization and Population
There is no correlation between the two. It is only in Africa that population continue to grow rapidly in the 21st century. One characteristic of societies that have not yet undergone a demographic transformation is the persistence of predominantly youthful populations, though these societies can least afford the burden of feeding and educating their nonproductive young.the young people make up more than 40 percent of the populations in the Third World, as compared with 20-30 percent in the industrialized world. This is however expected to change in the coming future.
