Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Cooperative Education, the Placement Coordinator must organize and implement the procedures that will enable an efficient and effective service to be provided to College, employer and student clients. The Coordinator has overall responsibility for job postings, forwarding resumes to employers, scheduling interviews, confirming placements and tracking the progress of each posting. Must provide an equitable and professional placement service for students and employers that is consistent with Algonquin Co-op and College regulations.

Required Qualifications: A minimum of a two year post secondary diploma or equivalent education and experience; A minimum of two years experience in an academic environment, or an equivalent of clerical
experience in placement, student services or human resources;

Incumbent must be skilled at multi-tasking since job requires the capacity to juggle many high priority
tasks at a time;

Ability to liaise with clients (students, employers, faculty) equitably, diplomatically and professionally;
Superior customer relations skills, tracking employers/students specific needs in database Strong computer skills, including the ability to troubleshoot problems minimizing downtime for software systems; Excellent organization skills; Demonstrated sensitivity to needs of a culturally-diverse client base plus sensitivity to disability issues; Ability to exercise sound judgment.
