1st Quarter Foundational: left to right progression, first sound, letter/sound recognition, sight word, word family.
2nd Quarter Literature: ID characters/settings/major events, common types of text, author/illustrator and define roles, compare/contrast characters in stories.
Informational: author/illustrator and define each role, compare/contrast 2 texts on the same topic
Language: plurals/questions words/sentences, cap first word/I/name/ punctuation, vocab acquisition/use (opposites, homophones, etc.)
Informational: describe the connection between 2 ideas/events/ Individuals or information, ID reason author gives to support point
