Understanding the data represented by a task (and the time entry that is created
when a task is dragged to the Activity Grid) is critical to a full understanding of the
other types of items that appear in the Project Tree. The properties of a task are
described below:
Task Properties
Property Description
Task Name The name of the task.
Project Name The name of the task's parent project, if any.
The comment that will be included with time entries for the
Default Comment task unless it is modified or replaced during editing of a time
entry.
Is the task billable or not. This is an especially valuable
property for consultants and others who bill their time, but can

also be used to distinguish between, for example, vacation
time and work time.
This property is specifically intended for consultants and
others who bill their time. It is used to define a "job code" or
Account Code
'billing code" that is associated with the task. It is a "text"
field, so it can include mixed alpha and numeric values.
Client The name of the client for whom the task is being done.
Billing Rate The hourly billing rate for the task.
Project Starts: The date (or other text) describing when the project starts.
Project Ends The date (or other text) describing when the project ends.
When a task is dragged to the Activity Grid to create a time entry, the task's key
properties are transferred to the entry and the following properties result:
