an anaesthetic to many of the worlds global warming problems; until it was brutally murdered by General Motors. The EV1 fashioned by GM was meant to be an entirely environmentally friendly vehicle which could have its thirst for power quenched by use of battery, over the consumption of gasoline. Although it appears that a product released by a company should not be destroyed by its source (due to the fact that it appears the company would suffer great losses from the extermination of a newly released product which many thousands or maybe even millions were spent on the production of), it still remains true. While I was in Mr. Yeuns class, we worked on a short activity which was to rank the goals of a company versus the government. It was widely agreed upon in that class, that a companys main purpose as to make a profit. GM still managed to make said profit, because a vehicle which could be considered a gas guzzler would make more money rather than a smaller car which requires less maintenance and doesnt fit with standard expectations of society. GM didnt produce the electric car for any moral reason, but instead to follow laws and regulations set by CARB. GM has also never took the effort to try and improve the sales of the vehicle, which they easily demonstrated by trying to use creepy commercials with a monotonous voice which could quire easily blend in with many old horror films. General Motors quite obviously never meant to sell this cutting edge technology which could have very rapidly enhanced this technological age, maybe even to such a level that you could compare these last few decades to a time of technological renaissance.
