Holiday Sour Cream Cookies 4x6
Prep Time 20 minutes | Bake Time 9-10 minutes | Makes 6-7 dozen
1. Cream together 1 c shortening, 1 c sour cream, eggs, granulated sugar, 2 t almond extract. 2. Slowly add baking soda then 6 c flour. 3. Roll dough out to approximately 1/4 thickness and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes on floured board. 4. Bake in 350F oven for approximately 9-10 minutes. Bottom of cookies should be light brown. Let cool completely before frosting. 5. For frosting, mix confectioners sugar, 1 c shortening, 1 c sour cream, 2 t almond extract. Divide and add food coloring if color is desired. 6. Beat until light and fluffy. Spread onto cookies. Decorate with sprinkles, etc. 7. After frosting and decorating, if packing, let set for a few hours.
