March 20, 2012 Palm Beach County 301 Olive Avenue, Suite 1201 West Palm Beach, FL 33401 Attn: Karen Marcue, Paulette Burdick, Shelly Vana, Steven Abrams, Burt Aaronson, Jess Santamaria, Pricilla Taylor Honorable Commissioners, The Sugarland Wind Project has the potential to do much harm, not just in Palm Beach County but throughout the entire State of Florida. There is far too much at stake for a few temporary jobs. The amount of acreage to be affected far outweighs the amount of energy which will be produced. The public has been unduly influenced by a mass mailing, green washing the real issues at hand. The project is not in the publics best interest and should be looked at by every editorial board in the State of Florida. West Pasco Audubon Society joins Audubon of South Florida and Audubon Society Everglades in opposing the Sugarland Wind Project. We hope that the Palm Beach Board of County Commissioners will put a 6 -12 month moratorium on the project or until USFWS places mandatory wind guidelines into effect.
