THE ART OF SHOOTING

PREPARATION PHASE 1. Hands six to eight inches apart 2. Bottom hand away from and across body even with opposite arm pit (lengthen lever) 3. Top hand on plane with same side shoulder and slightly behind shoulder (power position) 4. Upper arm should be bent at 90 degrees 5. Stick should be on 45 degree angle or a little higher in set position 6. Hips should be 90 degrees and shoulders 135 degrees turned away from goal (torque) 7. Crossover step back foot crosses behind front foot to load power RELEASE PHASE 1. First movement must be weight transfer shift weight to lead foot 2. Hips clear towards target this must happen prior to any shoulder rotation 3. Shoulders follow hips and rotate towards target 4. Hands must stay behind body while hips then shoulders release 5. Drop stick into the slot 45 degree angle 6. Pull hands across body stick should be perpendicular to target on 45 degree angle 7. Hands should be shoulder height on release 8. Delay the release of hands and stick as long as possible to increase torque, power and speed FOLLOW THROUGH PHASE 1. Full release weight must be over front foot 2. Stick should remain on 45 degree shooting plane 3. Back foot should cross over lead foot for full weight transfer
