Katty Janneh is a milliner based in London. After a self imposed break to restructure, Katty is relaunching herself in a new base at Second Floor Studios with a new online boutique www.kattyjanneh.com making its debut this spring selling her own label Hats, Headpieces, Fascinators and Bridal ranges. Katty is known for her button hats Hand made large fabric headpieces made in colourful silks and satins and trimmed with beading, feathers and up-cycled finds such as Lace, vintage jewellery & veiling. Her previous work had a distinct vintage influence to it but for this time round, Katty is adapting a more contemporary approach to her work. The SS12 collection is bright and colourful with a return to textile techniques in the surface decoration of her pieces. Katty also offers a bespoke and Bridal service from her studio. Her previous collections have been sold in Selfridges London and the British Hatter. Commissions have been undertaken for designers Matthew Williamson, Marc Powell Tailoring, The L Boutique and Carlotta Actis Barone. Katty also runs private millinery workshops from her studios as well as teaching Millinery in local FE community colleges. She also teaches classes at hugely successful Make Lounge in Islington.
