Reading

1. Skimming: read the heading of the paragraph, flip through the rest for transition (pause when you see a transition), read the ending and continue doing this with the rest. Pause for a moment and think of organization and a possible outline. 2. Go to the questions and answer them one by one. 3. Scanning: read the question, find the keys (where key and what key), locate the where key in the passage, scan a sentence before the where key and 2 sentences after that looking for anything leading for an answer for for the what key. Then go back to the choices and choose the best answer. Process of elimination: eliminate clear wrong choices in order to narrow down to the answer. Clear wrong choices: Run contrary to the issues presented in the passage; Irrelevant and/or not stated in the passage. Sophisticated wrong choices: Paraphrase that does not answer the question; Copy-pasted parts of passage; Extreme language tone; Emotional language tone. 4. The two pass method: in case there is no clear answer never point out one answer. For example, in 4th question you hesitate between A and C, so do not choose one particular variant, just leave A and C till you return to this question.
