On the day of the event, salad dressing entries are to be brought to the main Information Booth in the Veterans Memorial Plaza in the City of Guadalupe between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Food entries must be entered at the judging area no later than 11:30 a.m. Late food entries may be disqualified! Food entries and containers will become property of the Festival. Items will not be returned. The finished product must be accompanied by two (2) copies of your recipe on a standard 3x5 or 4x6 recipe card(s). The Festival reserves the right to refuse any entry without the recipe attached. Do not write your name on the recipe card! Exhibitors must have made their own food entries. No commercial mixes are allowed. An entry eligible may only be eligible in one class: Creamy or Non-Creamy. If there is a dairy product in the dressing as disclosed by the recipe card, the dressing will be entered in the Creamy classification. Entries not properly labeled for their class may be placed in the proper class by Festival management, whose decision may be changed only by the Presiding Judge. Exhibitors may enter more than one entry per class. No substitutions can be made.

The Festival management has the right to limit entries to facilities available. Any return of entries under this rule will be done on a nondiscriminatory basis. The Festival management shall not be responsible for accidents or losses that may occur to any of the exhibitors or food entries at the Festival, and the exhibitors shall hold the management harmless and indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising from such accidents or loss. Enter at your own risk. Festival management has the right to remove any entry that is ineligible for competition or is not to the best interest of the Festival, endangers public, or has violated festival rules. Festival management is not responsible for errors in entries. Exhibitors found guilty in any unethical practices related to the exhibitor or violating any of these rules will forfeit all premiums awarded and other privilege as determined appropriate by Festival management. The Festival management shall withhold awards for all entries that are determined ineligible. Judging results and awards will take place at 1:00 p.m. Enter salad dressings in Styrofoam or plastic containers (at least 1 pint). ALL FOODS MUST BE COVERED IN APPROPRIATE WRAP! Food safety is extremely important! There is limited refrigeration space. There are no food warmers at the Festival. Pre-registration entry fee is $1. Registration entry fee at the door is $5. All rights to recipes and photos become property of the Festival and may be used for promotional purposes. Winners may be listed on the website, and will be asked to sign a photo release for promotional purposes.

Judging: A judges decision is final. No person shall be allowed to interfere with the judges during their decision making. Personal criticisms by an exhibitor of an exhibit belonging to another person are unethical and will result in disciplinary actions. A judge shall have the authority to disqualify or transfer an entry to the correct class. The judge shall use the American Judging System and award first, second, or third place according to merit. Judging begins at 1:00 p.m. If there are no entries in a specific category, then there will be no Best of Show prize awarded. $50 $50 $25 $10
